A total ban on the breed of dog known as a pitbull is to be dropped, farm minister Gerda Verburg said on Monday.
Instead, new rules will be brought in allowing officials to seize aggressive dogs. The ban was brought in in 1993 after three children were killed by pitbulls, but officials say it has not led to a reduction in incidents.
