Offal causes jams on A1 northbound
There were major traffic jams on the A1 out of Amersfoort on Thursday morning after a lorry carrying offal shed its load over an 18km stretch.
The right lane was closed as gulls and other birds tried to pick up the meat waste. By 6.15, there was already a 5km jam between Amersfoort Noord and Eembrugge, according to motoring organisation ANWB.
