The official Dutch language monitor Taalunie will not introduce new spelling rules in 2015, following the wave of protests which greeted the last changes in 2005.
Instead the organisation, which is a joint Dutch, Belgian and Surinamese body, will focus on ‘managing and maintaining’ the language’s natural development.
