Minister wants assurances on care merger

The merger of two healthcare institutions with the housing corporation Woonzorg Nederland can only go through if ‘no money destined for social housing is used for other purposes’, housing minister Ella Vogelaar said after Friday’s cabinet meeting.

MPs are opposed to the merger, which will create a residential care group with 38,000 workers, 225,000 clients and over 1,000 locations.
