ING withdraws porn firm bank acounts
Financial services group ING has cancelled the accounts of a number of corporate clients who run pornography websites, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday.
The paper says the bank is worried about the damage to its reputation.
However, a number of the site operators have told the paper they plan to take ING to court for failing in its duty, pointing out that pornography is legal. A complaint has also been lodged with the competition authority NMa.
‘ING knew from the word go that we were about adult entertainment and that has not been a problem until now,’ Lennart Driehuis, director of Virtual Access, told the Telegraaf.
