Holland wins British poll despite cheating
Britain’s Guardian newspaper has decided not to disqualify the Dutch national football team from its poll to find a squad for the British to support at Euro 2008 despite interference by website GeenStijl.
The campaign, which attracted nearly 50,000 votes and a host of celebrity endorsements, gave Holland 96.2% of the vote. Oranje ‘would have won without cheating’, the paper said.
