Health insurers strike exclusive deals
Dutch health insurance companies are increasingly making exclusive treatment deals with hospitals, the AD reports in a series of articles on Tuesday.
For example, Zilveren Kruis Achmea has reached a deal with the Meander medical centre in Amersfoort that its fees will be reduced if patients develop more complications than agreed. And CZ sends patients with kidney stones to the Erasmus medical centre in Rotterdam because it has the best record on repeat operations.
Insurers tell the paper that the traditional ‘one stop shop’ hospital carrying out a complete range of treatment will soon be a thing of the past.
