Arts council will not revise spending plan
The arts council will not revise its spending recommendations for next year even though culture minister Ronald Plasterk rejected earlier plans, the council’s chairwoman Els Swaab told Radio 1 on Thursday.
The council had asked for a €26m increase in its budget in order to achieve the government’s cultural sector reforms. Plasterk said it had to stick to current spending limits and ordered a rethink.
