Quicker checks for US travellers
Te Netherlands and the US will on Monday sign an agreement making entry procedures much faster for frequent passengers by using iris scans.
Schiphol is the first foreign airport to sign such an agreement with the US. At the moment only three American airports offer iris scans: John F Kennedy in New York, Washington-Dulles and George Bush Intercontinental in Houston.
The system means that frequent, low-risk passengers can have their iris details recorded in advance, allowing them to go through immigration checks more quickly.
Tests of the system begin on June 10.
