Netherlands signs cluster bomb ban
The Netherlands is one of around 100 countries to agree to remove all forms of cluster bombs from its weapons arsenal.
The decision was taken at an international conference in Dublin, attended by defence minister Eimert van Middelkoop.
Middelkoop had said earlier he would back scrapping the heavy cluster bombs used in F-16 jet fighters but wanted to retain the lighter version used by Apache helicopters. MPs had called for a total ban.
