Kidney donation to strangers is growing

The number of people willing to donate a kidney to a stranger is growing, reports Thursday’s De Pers.

In 2007 172 people gave a kidney to someone they did not know compared with 69 in 2006, according to figures from the Dutch Transplant Foundation.
Currently over 900 people needing a kidney transplant are on the waiting list with an average waiting time of four years.
