Green boost for company car drivers

Junior finance minister Jan-Kees de Jager plans to make it cheaper for company car drivers who choose more energy-efficient vehicles, sources tell Thursday’s Telegraaf.

People who drive green cars like the Toyota Prius pay 14% of the catalogue value of their car in tax, while those who drive other cars pay a 25% levy. But the paper says De Jager is to introduce a 20% middle tax rate for medium polluters from next year.
