Earnings drop, turnover rise at Nuon

Energy company Nuon booked a 25% drop in earnings in the first three months of this year because of higher costs and lower results from energy trading. But turnover rose 6% to over €1.8bn.

The company also announced that Peter Molengraf (43) is to chair the separate Nuon grid operator, which is to be created under government plans to divide power firms into supply and network companies.
