Junior justice minister Nebahat Albayrak has put 140 Chinese asylum seekers into secure accommodation in an effort to stop them disappearing into the illegal circuit.
The 140 are part of a group of 800 Chinese nationals who claimed asylum after a rumour circulated that queen Beatrix was poised to abdicate and declare an amnesty for all illegal immigrants.
A number of the 800 have already disappeared, prompting Albayrak to take action.
