Amnesty protest for human rights activist

Amnesty International is organising a demonstration in front of the Iranian embassy in The Hague on Friday to protest at the continued arrest of human rights activist Abdullah al-Mansouri.

Al-Mansouri, who has lived in the Netherlands since leaving Iran in 1988, has been in custody for exactly two years today. He was arrested in Syria and handed over to the Iranian authorities where he is accused of terrorism.
A number of politicians, including Green Left MP Mariko Peters and Krista van Velzen of the Socialist Party are expected to attend the demonstration, says ANP news service.
