Advocaat has eyes on English club
Dutch football coach Dick Advocaat was celebrating last night after his team Zenit St Petersburg won the UEFA Cup, beating Scottish club Rangers 2-0.
He even received a call from prime minister Vladimir Putin in which Putin told him he was proud of what Advocaat had done for Russian football, reports Thursday’s AD newspaper,
Advocaat also led Zenit to the top of the Russian premier league.
Now the former Dutch national coach would like a job with a major English football club. ‘I’ve been champion in Scotland with Rangers, the Netherlands and Russia, but I’ve never been asked to coach a major English team,’ he told the paper.
