Slaughterhouse had 50 warnings

A slaughterhouse in Friesland accused of breaking meat safety rules has been fined dozens of times and given 14 official warnings over the past year, the AD reports on Wednesday.

‘The problems at this company have been known to us for some time,’ a spokesman for the food hygiene inspectorate VWA told the paper.
The allegations were first made in the press earlier this week and the company has now almost stopped working as suppliers stay away.
Government inspectors suspect the firm of committing fraud with meat condemned as unfit for human consumption.
