Savings scheme pays out €66

A man who put a total of €8,168 into an SNS Reaal investment-based savings scheme had an eventual payout of just €66 after 15 years, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday.

The man bought the policy in 1993 on the basis of a forecast payment of €27,000.
‘The policy was sold as a savings scheme but the money was invested,’ lawyer Hendrik Jan Bos tells the paper. ‘This is an ordinary man who has been conned. It is a real scandal,’ he says.
