PSV close in on premier league title
PSV’s 1-0 victory over lowly placed Heracles of Almelo on Sunday has all but guaranteed the Eindhoven team the premier league football title.
With two games to go, PSV are five points ahead of second-placed Ajax, who kept up the pressure on the league leader by beating De Graafschap of Doetinchem 4-1 on Sunday. Playing at home in Amsterdam, Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored a hat-trick – and notched up 100 goals to his name.
The real battle is for the play-offs for Champions League places with FC Twente, NAC Breda, Feyenoord of Rotterdam and SC Heerenveen all in with a shout.
