Pay rates rise by 2.7%

Collective pay deals signed in the first three months of this year show an increase in average basic salaries of 2.7% compared with 2.1% over 2007 as a whole, the national statistics office CBS said on Monday.


Teachers’ salaries rose 3.3% while hospitality industry wages were up 1.2%. The cost of employing staff rose 3.2%, due to increases in health insurance contributions.
