More cruise ships expected this year

Some 118 cruise ships are expected to dock at Amsterdam this year, up from 78 last year says the city’s cruise terminal operator PTA.

The number of passengers will rise to 200,000 from 145,000 in 2007.
The cruises will contribute €45m to the city’s economy, says the PTA. The first ship of the season, Jewel of the Sea arrived in the city on Sunday.
