Medical complaints up 10% in 2007
The number of formal complaints made against the medical profession rose 10% last year compared to 2006, according to the annual report of the health inspectorate’s five regional disciplinary boards, reports Tuesday’s free newspaper Spits.
The rise is considerably higher than the 2% in previous years, says the paper.
The increase is largely because patients are more vocal and the media has been giving more exposure to medial mistakes, the paper reports.
