Labour backs quota for female executives

The Labour party is considering introducing legislation to make it compulsory for companies to have a fixed percentage of women in top jobs if efforts to reach a voluntary agreement with industry fail.

‘We would prefer self-regulation,’ Labour MP Paul Kalma told news agency ANP.
The bill would be based on Norwegian legislation which Kalma says has boosted the number of women at the top of the corporate ladder from 10% to 40%.
