Energy firm bonus for using less electricity

Hilversum-based energy supplier Oxxio is offering customers a €300 bonus if they reduce their electricity consumption by 10% over the coming three years, reports ANP news service on Friday.

‘The time for talking about the environment and climate change is now really over,’ the company said.
Oxxio, which is owned by the British power concern Centrica, has calculated that 735,000 tons of carbon dioxide would be saved if every household in the country reduces its power consumption by 10%.
