Dutch firms invest in Belgian, German wind
Two Dutch companies, Van Oord and Evelop (a subsidiary of renewable energy developer Econcern), announced on Friday that they are investing a total of €1.5bn in four new off-shore windparks in Belgium and Germany.
The first facility, in Belgium, is expected to be operational in 2010. The three German windparks will be ready by 2012. The four units will produce enough electricity for 1.5 million households.
