Dairy cooperative merger in trouble

The merger between dairy cooperatives Campina and Friesland Foods may be in trouble because of disagreements over how to create a partnership of equals, the Financieele Dagblad reports on Wednesday.

In order to ensure a fair merger, farmers who supply milk to Friesland Foods need to be bought out for €336m, the paper says. In total, the two co-ops have 20,000 members. They will hear more details of the merger plans today.
