Cabinet forces sixth Schiphol runway through

The cabinet has intervened to ensure that Schiphol airport gets a sixth runway following the unexpected withdrawal of plans to start the process by the province of Noord-Holland in March.

Transport minister Camiel Eurlings and environment minister Jacqueline Cramer told parliament on Tuesday they would use every law available to force the runway through, reports ANP news service.
Noord-Holland dropped the plans because of local opposition.
