Atos Origin staff strike for more pay

Some 300 workers at software company Atos Origin in Groningen are set to go on strike on Wednesday morning in support of higher pay.

The company has offered 2%, trade unions want 3.5%. The Eindhoven plant will strike on Thursday.
CNV union spokesman Harrie de Vaan said the company offer did not even compensate for inflation, adding that Atos Origin CEO Wilbert Kieboom has had a 33% pay rise over the past three years.
According to news agency ANP, the strike is the first in the Dutch IT sector.
