Ajax’s Heitinga is player of the year
Ajax defender John Heitinga has been voted Footballer of the Year, beating PSV’s keeper Heurelho Gomes and SC Herenveen’s Danijel Pranjic.
Heitinga, who said he was delighted with the prize, is moving to Atletico Madrid next season.
