Amsterdam football club Ajax kept its hopes of premier league victory alive on Wednesday evening with a 2-1 away win over Groningen.

Ajax now trails PSV Eindhoven by three points. Both Ajax goals were scored by players bought from Groningen.
This Sunday PSV must draw its final game against Vitesse to hold on to the title. Ajax, which has a better goal difference than PSV, takes on Heracles Almelo
The match should have been played on Sunday but was abandoned because of the smoke and chaos caused by a small fire in the stand.
