Van den Hoogenband out of 200m
Three-time Olympic champion Pieter van den Hoogenband was knocked out of his most important race, the 200m freestyle, at the European championships in Eindhoven on Tuesday.
Van den Hoogenband, who is suffering from a stomach virus, swam well for the first 100m but then slowed down significantly, the Volkskrant reported on its website.
