Tax office can use stolen bank information
The tax office has been given the green light to use secret bank account details to fine several thousand people who have not declared they have secret bank accounts in Luxembourg.
The details were given to the tax office by the Belgian authorities in the 1990s. Belgium got hold of the microfiches after they were stolen from Kredietbank Luxemburg.
The appeal court on Friday ruled against bank account holders who said the tax office had obtained the information illegally.
