Super de Boer makes a profit

Supermarket group Super de Boer, which used to be known as Laurus, booked net profit of €10m in 2007, compared with a loss of €45m in 2006.

Operating profit reached €21m. Total sales, which were announced earlier, were €2.1bn. It is the first time in years that the company has made a profit and the results were above analysts’ expectations.
The company, which has undergone several revamps in recent years, is now on the up and will continue to grow in 2008, CEO Jan Brouwer said.
