Skiing neck and head injuries double
The number of skiers returning from winter sports holidays with head or neck injuries has doubled this year to 20%, reports ANP news service on Tuesday.
Injuries to arms and legs remain the most common, accounting for 72% of winter holiday injuries.
Some 32% of those injured are aged between 10 and 20, the same as in 2007. However, the number of people in their 40s and 50s hurting themselves has fallen sharply while the figure has increased among 20 to 30–year-olds.
