The 14-year-old boy who stabbed a 16-year-old schoolmate to death outside their school in Amsterdam’s Slotervaart last year has been sentenced to 11 months in juvenile detention.

The sentence is in line with public prosecution department demands. Although the 14-year-old had been severely bullied by his victim, the court ruled the youth deliberately used his knife several times. The boy will also receive psychiatric treatment.
