Staffing agency Randstad is to sell its Portuguese activities to win European Commission approval for its takeover of peer Vedior, the company said on Friday.

Randstad Portugual booked sales of €47m last year but its divestment will not have a ‘significant effect’ on the group’s financial position, Randstad said.
It expects to publish its formal offer for Vedior next week.
