PSV beat Tottenham on penalties
PSV Eindhoven is through to the quarter finals of the UEFA football cup after nail-biting victory over London’s Tottenham Hotspur in a penalty shootout 6-5 on Wednesday night.
PSV failed to capitalise on their 1-0 lead in the away leg, with Tottenham scoring an equaliser late in yesterday’s game.
After extra time the score remained 1-1. The hero of the evening was PSV keeper Heurelho da Silva Gomes who saved Tottenham’s fifth penalty.
Meanwhile Rotterdam’s Feyenoord beat AZ of Alkmaar 0-1 in the Dutch premier league last night. The goal came from Jonathan De Guzman. The match was postponed from the weekend because of industrial action by the police.
