MPs back Antillean immigration ban

The two main governing parties – CDA and Labour – support a ban on young, unemployed Antillean men coming to the Netherlands.

On the islands, a former Dutch colony, young people up to the age of 24 have to be either employed or studying. Those who do not obey those rules should not be allowed to move to the Netherlands, the MPs say.
The cabinet is also working on plans to deport repeat criminal offenders with Antillean nationality.
