The body of a man found in a car in the canal near Terneuzen on Thursday evening is almost definitely that of missing father Aarnout Zegers, wanted in connection with the murder of his two children, police said.

The 41-year-old man had been missing since the bodies of his children were found at their home in Roosendaal nearly three weeks ago. Police said they were assuming the man had killed himself, based on letters found at his home.
A fire service diver was killed during the operation to raise the car.
