Iran condemns Fitna film as ‘horrible’

Iran has condemned the anti-Koran film released by right-wing Dutch MP Geert Wilders on Thursday evening as ‘horrible’ and ‘blasphemous’ reports ANP news agency on Friday.

A spokesman for the Iranian foreign affairs minister has called on the Dutch government and the European Union to stop ‘this dreadful action’, said ANP.
In his statement spokesman Mohammed Ali Hosseini warned of repercussions but did not give details.
In the run up to yesterday’s internet publication of Fitna, members of Iran’s parliament called for breaking diplomatic and economic ties with the Netherlands. But the strongly Islamic government has so far ignored the calls, said ANP.
A spokesman for the Indonesian foreign ministry said the film was misleading and racist, ANP reported. Indonesia, a former Dutch colony, is the biggest Muslim country in the world.
