Insurers accuse PGGM of unfair competition

The Dutch insurance company association and a number of individual insurance groups are taking health service pension fund PGGM to court for unfair competition.

The insurers are angry about insurance services offered by PGGM under its own label. The courts earlier ruled in PGGM’s favour. PGGM has divided itself into a commercial operation and a pension fund in order to be able to offer other services.
The country’s biggest pension fund ABP has taken similar steps.
