Football club gets bankruptcy protection

Premier division football club Vitesse have asked for court protection from creditors. Initial talks with the administrators took place on Monday, the Arnhem club states on its website, but declined to give further details.


Vitesse has debts of some €27m, including €6.5m owed to the city council which has refused to cooperate with a refinancing plan, news agency ANP reports.
