Cold weather hits Easter tourism
The cold weather hit Easter tourism in the Netherlands, with the number of visitors to outdoor attractions down by up to 30%, according to industry figures.
Some 700,000 foreign visitors were in the country for the holiday weekend, down 200,000 on last year and 50,000 fewer than expected, according to the Dutch tourist board.
The weekend was the coldest Easter in 40 years, the KNMI weather bureau said. The wintry showers, which have made driving hazardous at times, are set to continue into Tuesday.
