C1000 supermarkets sold to Ahold

Supermarket concern Schuitema is to sell 56 of its C1000 supermarkets to retailer Ahold which operates Albert Heijn, the country’s biggest supermarket chain.

The move has been confirmed by Schuitema which says it hopes the transaction will be completed within a few months, says ANP news service, but no further details are available.
The sale is part of a bigger deal announced earlier under which Ahold is selling its 73% stake in Schuitema to investment firm CVC.
