Belgian firm takes stake in APX

The Belgian gas grid operator Fluxys has taken a 2.68% in the Amsterdam-based power and electricity exchange APX.

The announcement was made by the state-owned Dutch electricity grid operator Tennet which now holds 71.82% of the APX Group. No figures were disclosed.
‘The background of this participation is the ambition of the APX Group to play a leading role in the European gas market,’ says Tennet in its statement.
The remaining 25.5% is in the hands of the Dutch gas transport firm Gausunie.
Fluxys is the first foreign shareholder of the APX Group which operates electricity and gas trading platforms in the UK, the Netherlands and Belgium.
