Alitalia takeover ‘in danger’
The takeover of Italian airline Alitalia by Air France-KLM is in danger, Jean-Cyril Spinetta, head of the French-Dutch airline was quoted as saying on Wednesday.
In particular, maintenance unions are angry that nearly 5,000 jobs are to go if the takeover goes through. Air France-KLM wants union approval for the deal.
The takeover must also be approved by the new Italian government. The country goes to the polls next month.
