Ajax books profit on sale of players

Amsterdam football club Ajax booked net profit of €21m in the first half of its current book year, compared with a loss of €5.6m in the year-earlier period.

The profit comes from the sale of players such as Wesley Sneijder and Ryan Babel.
Turnover reached €31.6m, down nearly 7% on the previous year, largely due to the club’s early departure from the Champions League and Uefa cup.
