Television programmes which are partly funded by the foreign affairs ministry should make it clear they are subsidised, European affairs minister Frans Timmermans says in the NRC Handelsblad.

Recently it emerged that two episodes of the current affairs show EénVandaag which focused on the importance of the EU had been almost entirely paid for by the ministry’s Europa fund.
