OPG buys Byram Healthcare

Dutch pharmacy and drugs wholesale group OPG is to buy the American firm Byram Healthcare for €90m, the company announced on Tuesday.


Byram Healthcare is one of the largest suppliers of medicines for home use.
The takeover, which has to be approved by the competition authorities, is OPG’s first step outside Europe. The company expects the takeover to go ahead in March.
Shares remained at €19.51 on the Amsterdam beurs following the announcement.
OPG booked net profit in 2007 of €93m on a turnover of €2.48bn.
