Dutch energy concern Nuon has announced that it has awarded the contract for its new gas-fired Magnum power plant in the northern town of Eemshaven to the Japanese firm Mitsubishi.
The deal is worth over €1bn, says Nuon.
The move marks a firm decision by Nuon to go ahead with the first phase of the multi-fuel power plant which is due to go on-line in 2011.
